A Bit of Earth
Saturday October 21st at 6:30
After 40 years of living away in various towns and cities around the US, Wendy Crisp Lestina inherits her family's farm and finds herself living on the far northern California coast. For the last 15 years she has written a weekly newspaper column, "From the Back Pew", for the Ferndale Enterprise. A Bit of Earth, her memoir, includes many of these humorous and personal essays. Wendy shares her journey of paths and choices made with a remarkable openness and bravery. There’s never a predictable moment as Wendy explores, returning to her ancestral home having lived a full life.
Wendy Crisp Lestina's collection of personal essays is remarkable for both its bravery and openness. Even as she recounts escapades particular to a time, a place, and her circumstance, her story will resonate universally for every reader. Her journey is typical of her generation yet atypical in the choices she makes and the paths that she follows. There’s never a predictable moment as Wendy ventures far and wide, only to return to her ancestral home bearing the gifts of a life well and truly lived.
