7/29 LeeAnn Kriegh
LeeAnn Kriegh presents
The Nature of Bend
Saturday July 29th at 6:30pm
The beauty of Central Oregon is awe-inspiring, but sometimes we would love to know more about the plants and animals that share our area. LeeAnn Kriegh's beautiful and informative nature guide The Nature of Bend: The Insiders Guide to Central Oregon Plants and Animals is just the book we need to identify the natural world around us. Join us for a special evening while LeeAnn shares a slideshow on "Engaging the Seven Senses in the Central Oregon Outdoors". She will share insights and stories about the regions plants and animals, from how the Indian paintbrush got its name to the wonders of owl pellets and the best smells in the forest.
LeeAnn Kriegh is a Bend-based writer who devoted much of the past two years to researching and writing The Nature of Bend.
As a journalist, Kriegh has written for a variety of regional magazines and websites, as well as The Oregonian. For the past dozen years, she has run a writing and editing business called WordDoc, through which she pens everything from websites to white papers for high-tech companies including Google, Intel, and Microsoft, as well as smaller businesses and nonprofits across the country.
Kriegh is a former college athlete who earned master’s degrees in kinesiology and English, was a college basketball head coach for five years, and has been a nature lover since her earliest days wandering beneath her mom’s towering rows of U-pick blueberry bushes.
